Part 02 / Hardware & flight
09 / 09Fly the trained model
Make the deployment and the comparison equally honest.
Bring every controller through the same off-board interface, verify a compact onboard export, and publish a hardware comparison even when the classical controller wins.
The goal for this build
What you’ll be able to do.
- Match the simulator-to-firmware action and observation interfaces.
- Benchmark controllers with comparable off-board latency.
- Verify exported inference numerically and within runtime budgets.
- Publish complete hardware results with failures and limitations.
What to have ready
- Modules 7 and 8 hardware readiness
- Module 5 deployed model and normalization metadata
- Verified fallback, geofence, kill and timeout behavior

03 / Prove it
Keep the evidence.
Then run the gate.
What you ship
- Common off-board controller app and tested fallback behavior
- Verified C inference export with parity and timing records
- Complete hardware results table with supported baselines and explicit unavailable entries
- Raw flight logs, reproducible plots, side-by-side video references and Module 09 evidence
Module 09 gateEvidence required
- Publish the hardware table for all planned controllers and conditions, explicitly documenting unavailable baselines and the reason for every aborted run; the learned controller does not crash.
- Onboard outputs match JAX to maximum absolute error at most 1e−4 on at least three recorded sequences, and worst-case inference stays within 2 ms.
- Onboard tracking RMS is at most 1.10× the comparable off-board result, beyond flight-to-flight noise.
- RAPTOR, when available, flies as its own onboard deployment; retain evidence for failsafes, timing, randomized order and actual flight repetitions.
