Part 02 / Hardware & flight

07 / 09

Print, build, first flight

Establish a stable aircraft before adding learning.

Fabricate and inspect the frame, assemble the electronics, commission the stock flight stack, and produce a measured hover record in a controlled indoor enclosure.

Written lesson + build labEvidence-based gate

The goal for this build

What you’ll be able to do.

  • Assemble a serviceable vehicle with documented wiring and mass.
  • Verify motor order, estimator alignment and failsafes without propellers.
  • Calibrate positioning and inspect vibration before autonomous tests.
  • Document a stable stock-controller hover with usable telemetry.
What to have ready
  • Module 6 approved geometry and compatible components
  • Suitable indoor netted test area and a competent spotter
  • Local requirements, site permission and applicable insurance checked

03 / Prove it

Keep the evidence.
Then run the gate.

What you ship

  • Built aircraft, photographed wiring record and as-built wiring plan
  • BOM with measured all-up mass
  • Pinned firmware, parameter dump and failsafe observations
  • 60 s hover log, video reference and Module 07 evidence
Module 07 gateEvidence required
  • Stable, airborne 60 s hover on the stock stabilized controller in a declared window.
  • No gyro or accelerometer clipping, counted onboard at the sensor rate.
  • RMS tilt remains below 5° during the declared hover interval.
  • Weighed mass is at most 227 g, battery thresholds are set for 3S, and build evidence, the as-built wiring plan and failsafe checks are retained.
